Well, I'm not THAT arrogant. You do whatever you like, of course. But I solemnly swear that I will never paint a "big guy" again. ;)

Really, I don't get it.
I have checked prices for 3D-Printers recently. You can get the formidable Mars 2 Pro for 130 Euros. That's the price for three Warhammer 40k Codices. It is easy to use. Since I changed scale, I don't paint models, I paint armies. Why on earth do people stick with GW and 28mm scale??

Five Leagues from Gotburg - Part 1
It's batrep time.
you've mastered the painting of 15mm. Your models look awesome Guillermo. You're right with the 3D issue but the problem for me and I suppose for many others is that I don't know how to use a 3D printer, I've been told it is not easy to handle.
AntwortenLöschenThank you, Javier! Printing is quite easy. I was a total noob and got useable minis with my first try. :)
LöschenSeconded. A printer is very easy to get used to.
LöschenFirst of all, you will never seduce us with your charming photos and convince to change scale with your wonderful painted minis! For us it's a mix of nostalgia for the 25/28mm scale with which R (and D as a consequence) entered the hobby, plus a level of detail that honestly smaller miniatures don't have.
AntwortenLöschenA separate issue is the 3D printer: there are many files of minis that attract us, but, as Javier has already written, we fear not being able to use it effectively. A compromise that we found is to buy the files and then have them printed by a trusted hobby shop: it is more expensive, but at least we are sure that the result is good.
Hey, Rodor! I didn't mean it that way! I still drool over glorious lead from the golden age of Citadel. I was thinking of the GW fanboys that will buy every new kit and codex. Or people struggling to paint 6000 points of Tyranids in 28mm. I still own a lot of my old collection and there are minis I would never give away. :)
Löschen(tongue in cheek) I think Skully should print them for us! ;-)
LöschenAh, thanks for the clarification...There's just one small snag 😳: We've already called on a band of witch hunters (old Citadel metal miniatures, for sure) to lead a crusade to wipe all those 15mm resin miniatures and their heretic owner... ☠ and we don't think they will stop now! 🔥
LöschenApart from that, we completely agree with you: supinely adhering to a brand interested in selling plastic at crazy prices kills creativity and your wallet. Much better to choose and print (or have printed) what we like and which is useful for developing our imagination!
Dammit, your pics are soo tempting! You are such a bad influence! I'm not ready to take that step (yet), but your work is awesome in every possible way!!
AntwortenLöschenThey're great models! I don't think I could work in 15mm, owing to the reduction of detail and the difficulty in converting them, but you've done a great job on these.
