Rebellion rising!

All sculpts from Assault Publishing's formidable Insurgents line finally painted. I really like those chaps since they are very individual models, but still form clearly consistent units. Sadly, they are oop now.

Some cards I designed for my THW solo games.

52 posts in 52 weeks

I did it!

It has been a year that I started this blog and I managed to post 52 entries keeping it all 15mm. Building up several settings from zero gave me the chance to play fantasy, hard sci-fi, weird war II, zombie apocalypse and 40k-like scenarios with several armies or warbands each. Also, I created dungeons, terrain and scenery items that will bring these games to life. As the 28mm lead pile diminishes with each sold, I build up new ones purchsing whole lines of 15mm goodness. But this time, I know that it will not be in vain, that I can really manage to paint all of this and put it into service.
Thanks to all of you for your interest, your thoughts and comments and for the inspiration and motivation you gave me over this year!

Some more additions for my 15mm chaos army: chaos androids, a leader with a powersword, a renegade with a haevy weapon, a rhino and a dreadnought-like daemon creature. The androids (cannot decide if I stay with the grey or if I paint up more classic white ones) are from the Scene UK, the rhino is a Titan Marine APC from Rebel Minis and the Dread is from Alternative Armies' Star Vikings range (heavily modified, Richard might guess it's origins).

Until next time, 15mm FTW!

The end is nigh

Some survivors of whatever happened to the world we once knew and two DIY terrain pieces that make the start of my future wasteland. The survivors are from the Scene and Rebel Minis. The terrain pieces use various bits from HO scale model railroad accessories.

15mm Imperial Guard Sentinel

Back from holidays, even had the time to paint a little bit, while I was abroad. But first I'd like to show some goodies I finished before leaving.
I made my choice for the 15mm Sentinels: I took the DIMOG walkers from Khurasan. Here's number one, the other is still waiting in the painting queue.

Somewhere in the warp...

...the painting queue is very long.

I had this Epic 40k Bloodthirster for over 20 years and never found the motivation to paint him up. After discovering the Nox miniatures from Alternative Armies / The Ion Age, I decided to start some khornate chaos renegades for my 40k in 15mm games. Just like the Greater Unclean Ones he's scaling quite well to the 15mm guys. Keep in mind that the Nox wear heavy Terminator-like armor. Next to lightly protected troops the Bloodthirster looks like a monster.

When there's no more room in hell...

...the dead shall walk the earth!
All 30 zombies I painted so far. I also purchased everything undead there is from Khurasan Miniatures as I want to double numbers at least while keeping every sculpt unique. All zombies from today's post are Rebel Minis or Assault Publishing. The buildings are Bachmann's Plasticville or Kibri HO scale kits.

Looks Guard enough to me

I always regarded Ground Zero Games' NSL line as good Imperial Guard proxies, looking a little bit like Mordian Iron soldiers. The only thing missing so far was proper character models and vehicles. So I ordered some Winter Command figures from Vanguard Miniatures' Novan Regulars and a few GZG head-swaps later I was ready to go. The Ogryns are "Space Ogres" from CP models by the way.

Being proxies they are not perfect, for sure. But they look "guard" enough to me and I can field Chimeras, Ogryns, Kasrkin, Guardsmen, Weapon teams and powerfist-wielding Sergeants and Commissars. Last additions will be Leman Russ and Sentinels.

Purple is my colour of choice!

Some news from the Cult. Still purple, still mean, a little bit more old school!
