Something wicked this way comes

These guys from the scene.uk are called Karlocks and can be used for lots of settings. Weird War II monstrosities, bio-mechanical sci-fi experiments, Strogg-like creatures or even cyberdemons from hell. I will definetly play them in Bolt Action games and sci fi dungeon crawls.

  1. I just watched "Overlord" so I'm definitely digging the Nazi mad science monstrosity possibilities here! These are ghastly! Those GI's and their Greyhound aren't going to last long :O

  2. They remind me a bit to Genestealers. Do you play sci-fi BA?

    1. Enlighten me: What is sci-fi BA? Sounds like fun for sure! :D

    2. Well, you wrote you were going to use them to play Bolt Action and I supposed that it would be Bolt Action in a future setting. Hence sci-fi BA :)

    3. I was so stuck with the Genestealers from the beginning of your post that I couldn't get back to Bolt Action, oh my... I was searching for something like Space Hulk. There is a sci-fi or weird version of BA that is called Konflikt 47. I will definetly try out that one. :)

  3. They do look a lot like genestealers. Whatever they end up being, they look very good!

  4. That big beasty looks like one of the bosses from Doom. I'm pretty sure he was made in 28mm as well. I love the paint job you did on him. Really sickly looking. Could I ask your recipe for him please?

The other guys look like genestealers for sure. Unreal that you can find them in 15mm scale.

    Another great post Skully :)

    1. Thanks, Mr. Papafakis! The bellied guy IS the 28mm figure, but it works great with the smaller guys. I primed him with Rakarth Flesh and gave him a good wash with Druchii Violet. then I repeated step one but used thinned Carroburg Crimson for the second wash. Then I took Rakarth Flesh again and started to highlight in thinned layers adding white at a certain point. Hope that helps. :)

    2. Oh, now I feel dumb for asking :D

He's quite a small mini then really. Anyway, he looks great! Thanks for the recipe.

      Much obliged :)

    3. You're right, I think he would look silly next to "normal" 28mm minis. :)

  5. I think I also got a few of these laying around, never got a use for them.
But seeing them painted up and in a setup like this they suddenly make a lot of sense, perfect for a horror game.

    Brilliant post Skully!
